Veterans day serves as a small reminder for us to gather in celebration of those who have served our country. One day is not enough. Please remember to show appreciation to the Veterans in your life all year long. Don’t forget to appreciate the families of service men and women – they have made sacrifices for their loved ones service as well. LifeCircles wishes to recognize the service of the men, women, and families in our West Michigan communities. The LifeCircles family especially wishes to honor those veterans who are among our participants and team. We are proud of who you are, and what you have sacrificed on our behalf. We often hear from family, friends and neighbors about veterans who are trying to work through systems which are difficult to manage. Aging veterans face many issues, and sometimes it is difficult to know what your options are. At LifeCircles our Social Workers help our Veteran’s navigate these challenging systems. If you are not currently part of the LifeCircles family you may find the resource list below helpful.
Local Resources that provide assistance to Veterans and Service Members/Families:
West Michigan Veteran’s Coalition: Collaboration between local military friendly organizations that provide support, information and resources to veterans and their families.
Muskegon County Department of Veterans Affairs: Assist disabled and needy veterans and members of the armed forces, their dependents, children and parents
Ottawa County Veterans Affairs: Provide financial aid and other assistance to honorably discharged, wartime veterans or their widow/widower who are residents of Ottawa County
Allegan County Veterans & Senior Services: Providing support to Allegan County Seniors and Veterans
West Michigan Veteran’s Assistance Program: Assisting homeless and near-homeless Veterans and their family members whose needs are not currently being met by available services
Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency: Central coordinating point for Michigan Veterans to connect them to services and benefits throughout the state.
